Kirk Jackson has seen a lot of changes in his 25 years at Jackson & Blanc. He came into the family business, founded by his grandfather in 1931, with experience in both business and real estate. He started in 1971 in the sales department, working with commercial and industrial customers on the development and implementation of customized heating and air conditioning systems.
Today, as Owner and President, Jackson is responsible for managing the executive team and overseeing the strategic direction and growth of the company. “I don’t just want to grow the business for growth’s sake,” Jackson says. “My goal is to move the company forward as a leader in the design/build philosophy and as a single source provider for industrial and commercial HVAC systems.” Kirk has a special passion for energy efficient design and construction. He is an acknowledged leader in the implementation, financing, marketing and management of District Cooling systems.
Jackson is an active participant in the HVAC community, a past President of San Diego SMACNA (Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association), member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers), and a charter member of the LINC Service Advisory Council. In the business community, Jackson is a member of VISTAGE, an international organization of Chief Executive Officers, the Executives Association of San Diego and San Diego Rotary Club 33.
As COO/CFO of Jackson & Blanc, John Fusca’s responsibilities are two-fold. On the financial side, Fusca oversees all the operating divisions and the Company’s overall growth management as well as corporate planning. In addition to these duties, Fusca also leads the sales effort for large project and design/build jobs.
After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Cal State Northridge, Fusca became the sales manager for a San Diego HV/AC products manufacturer and distributor. In 1997, Fusca began working for Jackson & Blanc with nearly a decade of experience in the industry and also began working to earn his MBA. In 1999, he was promoted to General Manager at the Company and in 2000 received his MBA degree from San Diego State. In early 2005, Fusca became the Chief Financial Officer at Jackson & Blanc.
One of Fusca’s favorite parts of the job is seeing complex projects grow from concept to fruition. “Being part of a project that begins with just ideas - with talks of planning and feasibility - and watching it develop through the design, implementation, execution and maintenance phase is extremely rewarding,” Fusca says. “Jackson & Blanc is unique because we are a single source provider for our customers, and we are working hard to advance that design/build/service philosophy in the industry.”
