Owner / General
SPAWAR Systems – SW

Contract Amount
$14.8 Million

Jackson & Blanc was selected by AECOM to provide mechanical and general construction for energy upgrades for SPAWAR systems in San Diego over (3) task orders. Each task order provided specific, complex mechanical energy saving measures to be completed as part of the overall ESPC.

As part of the overall effort (2) stand alone 900 ton central chilled water plants were constructed, (5) chillers replaced, (30+) CRAC units replaced, several new high efficiency boilers installed, multiple large air handlers installed, various air and water systems converted from constant volume to variable volume, and over 6000 feet of rooftop chilled water piping to connect various systems into the new central systems.

The entire effort took place over a 3 year time frame without incident in occupied facilities, many of the critical and high security areas requiring full time escorts. As noted by AECOM project manager “ I wanted to thank you and your company for all of the support that you have given us in tackling the construction work on six of the most challenging buildings included in the project. We are only as good as our Subcontractors and your company has performed flawlessly and contributed substantially to the overall success of the project.
